Road Race June 2
Sign on and start of the road race is located at the Batoche National Historic Site, approximately 90 km (1 hour) north from the Saskatoon city limits (see map). To get to the Batoche National Historic Site, drive north out of Saskatoon on Highway 11 and continue to the junction of Highway 11 and Highway 312 E at Rosthern. Turn right at this junction and travel east on Highway 312 towards Wakaw and continue to the turn off for the town of Batoche on Highway 225 N. Turn left at the junction of Highway 312 E and Highway 225 N. Continue on this road to the Batoche National Historic Site (approximately 10 km).
The road race course is 2 loops of approximately 29 km in total with a start and finish straight of 10 km out and back from the T-Intersection of HWY 312 & HWY 225 N.
Race results will be posted at the front of the Batoche National Historic Site
Parking, washrooms and food facilities are located in Batoche National Historic Site (see map). Public urination is strictly forbidden, including in the staging area and Start / Finish area.
Start times: All categories of racers are requested to start staging at 11:50 on the paved road into the Batoche National Historic Site between the site gates and the parking lot. Please line up for roll call behind the vehicle for your category in the following order:

|CAT 5||12:20||49 km||1 lap Loop A & B|
|CAT 6 (Youth U19)||12:25||33 km||1 lap Loop B|
Please remember that it is the responsibility of the racer to know the course and the number of laps required for their category. Volunteers, spectators and Commissaires will not be able to advise you once the race has started.
Stage win prize of $50 / category will be awarded in CAT 1 / 2 / 3, 4, 5 and Women’s races and $25 in CAT 6 (Youth U19).
Two race numbers must be worn, as per the diagram in the race bible. Numbers may not be folded, cut, overlapped or covered. ** Remember, if we can’t see your number, we can’t give you an accurate finishing time!
There will be staging just inside the gates with a neutral start out of the gates from the Batoche National Historic Site onto Highway 225 S past the actual Start / Finish line. The Finish line is located on Highway 225 N, just before the Batoche National Historic site gates (see map).
The feed zone is located 1 km east of the T-Intersection (Loop B). Only the CAT 1 / 2 / 3 groups will be allowed to feed in this race, at the beginning of their second lap. Feeding will not be available for the other groups unless the Commissaire announces this in advance. Feeding will only be allowed from the south side of the road. No feeding will be allowed on the first lap for any of the categories unless authorized by the Commissaires.
Corner marshals will be available at the corners, top and bottom of the bridge, the feed zone and at the finish line. These marshals will make every effort to stop traffic for the turns, but racers must proceed with caution. Please follow the instructions of the volunteers at all times. Also, please be aware that the corners and the feed zone are neutral zones where no racing is allowed. This zone includes the area 25 meters before each and after the cones in the feed zone. Racers must turn to the outside of the cone in the center of the road and may not cut the turn. There will not be a rolling enclosure or closed course.
The condition of the road surface varies throughout the course. There are some areas that may have potholes and may be areas where the asphalt is broken or rough. Please ride with caution in these areas. Most shoulders on this route are narrow and center lines are clearly marked.
Racers may only ride with people who are in the same category as they are. If you are dropped from your group, you may not ride with someone from another category. If one category catches another group, the group that is being caught must pull completely over and allow enough room for the faster category to pass by safely without crossing the center line. If you are riding alone or in a small group, please stay on the shoulder or as close to the shoulder as possible for your own safety!
**Racers who ride on or cross over the center line will be penalized 1 minute for each time that a Commissaire or designate observes them crossing the center line for any reason. Racers are not allowed to cross the center line in an attempt to pass the pack or gain an advantage and should not put themselves in a position that they could get “pushed” over the center line while trying to draft. Also, please do not cross the center line at corners. Commissaires are instructed to be very strict with this rule, for your own safety and in the best interest of all competitors.
Only official Commissaire and follow vehicles will be allowed to follow any race. Spectators and feeders may carefully drive to the feed zone but may only pass a racer or a group when it is safe to do so. They may not follow any racer for any length of time and may not park on the course or on the shoulder of the highway at any time. This is for the safety of all racers as the course is not long enough to allow extra vehicles.
In case of flats, neutral wheels will be available in the official follow vehicles only. Racers should bring wheels labeled with your name, race number and the gear to the appropriate marked vehicle in the staging area at 11:45 AM. Racers will be responsible for changing the flat themselves and may not be motor paced back to the group.
UCI GC tie breaking rules will be followed in the event of a tie in Omnium standings in a category. Prizes will be awarded as soon as possible after the majority of racers are finished.
